Amines are acquired when functional organic groups take place of hydrogens in ammonia molecules. Depending on the organic group whicb are bonded to nitrogen, they are names as primary, secondary or tertiary.

All amines have alkaline properties. Depending on molecular structure, the ones that have small molecules are dissolved in water and most is dissolved in organic solvents. Most of them are found in liquid form in room temperature.

Amines are a big chemical family that are commonly used in many industrial fields such as dyes and pharmaceuticals.
