Oils are apolar chemicals that are found in viscose liquid form in room temperatures. They do not mix with water and they mix with other apolar substances. They are usually flammable, they have surface active substance properties and their chemical structure contains high amounts of carbon and hydrogen. They are very efficient in reducing friction.
Oils are divided into two; mineral oils and organic oils. They have a wide array of domestic and industrial usage. While certain oils are hazardous for humans, others are health. As they are lighter than water and they do not dissolve in it, very small amounts of oil can contaminate very small amounts of water. Therefore, it must be given to water network after proper consideration.
